A defiant lineup of armed New Hampshire libertarians on a stage, with American and New Hampshire flags overhead and a mohawked figure rallying with a megaphone, facing down a horde of progressive zombies.

What's Happening

An illegal purge by the national party.

The national libertarian party just kicked out their New Hampshire affiliate. This is like your high school rocket club, which has never launched a rocket, kicking out Elon Musk.

— Dr. Insensitive Jerk @DrInsensitive

The National Libertarian Party is trying to illegally purge some of the only remaining libertarians in the Libertarian Party.

The stated reason is because in 2024, a completely different leadership team endorsed Donald Trump.

The real reason is they’re left-wing losers who can’t stand to see right-wing libertarians succeed.

All we do is win, and it makes them so angry.

I stand with @lpnh because they make me look like a moderate and that's rare. They push the envelope. They piss people off (including me on occasion). They scare the hell out of left libs. They make me laugh. They have a coherent strategy. In my view they are easily a top 3 affiliate in the country. If @LPNational wants to evict them they will have sealed their own fate. I hope they'll reconsider. Though I doubt they'll care even slightly about what I think. They want the Ron Paul wing removed from the party. Sad, but predictable.

You might ask yourself why the Libertarian Party can’t stop electing or nominating gay, pro transkid, open borders leftists But you already know the answer

I'm much closer to the NH guys in fact. Since I'm being criticized from behind a block, I'll have to quote tweet this response to it.: I am in a way impressed by the collection of completely fake quotes in the Tim Starr essay linked above as proof of my bad reasoning. He just paraphrased me in the least charitable way, but then puts quote marks around his pretended paraphrases, beginning in the very first sentence. Anyone can search the kindle or various online pdf files people have posted to see for themselves whether they check out.

The Libertarian Party "officially" severed ties with the @LPNH affiliate and @jeremykauffman delivered one of the most brutal assessments yet of the national LP. After years of Mises Caucus infighting, leadership battles, ideological purges, and the collapse of the old libertarian coalition, Kauffman says the national party “can’t do anything” and was never capable of building real power.

Next up: The LNC will spend tens of thousands of dollars “protecting their trademark” in a lawsuit against the LPNH It will go on long enough for new leadership of one group, or the other, to make the lawsuit irrelevant

From one of our members “This mentality is irrational and repugnant. I am a libertarian. Some might say even more libertarian than some of the libertarians in the libertarian party. If I put an R next to my name so I can get on a ballot, what does that change about my beliefs or my ideology? Would people really say that it would’ve been better for Ron Paul to never put an R next to his name and never win an election? Better for Massie? Or what about their all-time favorite Justin Amash who only changed his letter to L on his way out the door? This is party over principles bs in the same way that we see Republicans and Democrats doing the same thing.”

Change your name to the 'Liberty Party' and go national. Most normies don't know what "Libertarian" means anyway.

FAQ

What people are asking. Email submissions to chair@lpnh.org.

“What does it actually mean to be disaffiliated? Can LPNH still exist?”

Disaffiliation means we lose our name. That’s the whole point of it.

It also means we lose the ability to participate in New Hampshire politics as the rightful New Hampshire affiliate.

“What was the reason?”

The motion to disaffiliate cited the following:

Watch the full discussion and vote (19 min).

“Did current LPNH leadership endorse Donald Trump?”

No. Not a single member of the current executive committee voted to endorse Donald Trump. They are illegally attempting to punish LPNH for the actions of a completely separate leadership team.

There has been no evidence submitted of LPNH’s current leadership acting in any way contrary to the Libertarian Party bylaws or libertarianism.

“Were any other avenues considered?”

We don’t know what discussions happened behind closed doors, but the LNC rejected forming an investigative committee before acting.

“Was the national committee just elected? Did they campaign on disaffiliation?”

This was one of the first acts of a brand new leadership committee that was elected just earlier the same day this action happened.

It happened without notice and without any ability for us to have representatives present.

Few, if any, of the elected officers campaigned on disaffiliation. This is an illegal coup enacted with no regard for the law or libertarian principles.
